laundry helpers

My adorable little laundry helpers, on a typical Thursday morning. Between naps and meal times and outfit changes, these are the little moments that need to be savoured.

Here's to documenting the "everyday."

coop the cow

Very few people will know this...but I'm obsessed with cows.

This is one of the main reasons that I love living in Barrhaven. The cows. No matter whether I'm bopping around town and going to the grocery store, or driving downtown to meet a client...I see cows every single day.

There's this one particular farm on Prince of Wales Drive where the cows hang out on one side of the street in the morning, and on the other side in the evening. I have NO idea how they all cross the street. Ry and I have hypothesized that maybe there's a secret cow tunnel under the road. Either that, or someone loads them all up into a bus and takes them to their happy hour over on the East side.

I digress.

Logically, Coop is dressed up as a cow this Halloween. And I can't even STAND how cute this is. Meeeeeeeps!

Happy Halloween!!!

bla bla bla bla + sleep training

One day he's as quiet as can be, except when he's giggling or whining to let us know he's hungry, and the next day he has things to say. Bla bla bla bla bla bla bla, and so on and so forth.

I can't wait to find out what he's actually thinking. In the meantime, we've decided it means "I love you mom and dad!"

While mommy prepared for her wedding show booth, the Kelly family babies had many, many naps:

A shot from inside the EY Centre -- booth prep in full force!

My fabulous booth helper, Britt, and a promising fortune from the weekend.

Leaving this little guy in the morning is always tough, but I'm thankful I only have to do it a few times a year.

It's starting to get dark insanely early...which means my shoots are limited to weekends as of this week. Weeknights are for dinners together, movies in bed, and snuggling with a pj-wearing Coop.

We're also doing sleep training! The Ferber method, to be exact. This involves putting Coop to sleep in his crib without any sleep associations (white noise machine, soother, blankets, etc.) and letting him cry it out until he falls asleep. He's already such a good sleeper but we are kinda tired of going into his room 3 times a night to replace his soother for him.

Night one was pretty good! He was asleep in 28 minutes, and slept his usual 12 hours, except he was up at about 4am to cry for maybe an hour. The magical part is that he can get himself back to sleep on his own now, even if he's fussy.

The next few nights were tough, but then as of about night six, the sunny skies came out. He went to sleep in minutes and didn't wake up until 7am. We are excited to see how much better it gets! Proud that we stuck it out :)

Not sure if I ever really wrote about my post-baby hair loss but HOLY COW did it ever happen. I used to be able to wrap my hair elastic around my ponytail twice but once Coop turned about 3 months old, suddenly I could wrap it around 4 times. I swear I had HALF the normal amount of hair.

This photo shows that slowly but surely, my hair is starting to grow back!

When did sitting in the cart happen?

Ryan and I felt compelled to try on this hipster hat one Saturday at the mall. Actually, I felt compelled and forced Ry to try it on also.

Speaking of hats -- Coop has a new hat for the Winter! He's all set :)

We take neighbourhood walks followed by iPhone photos.

I'll end with this photo of my crafty preparations for Coop's halloween shoot. He's going to be SO CUTE and I can't handle it.

How did Halloween get here so fast?!
